Jazz On Sloan at the South Orange Gazebo - Downtown After Sundown

The South Orange Jazz On Sloan Concert Series, often located at the Jazz On Sloan at the South Orange Gazebo, is a annual jazz series celebration as part of the South Orange Downtown After Sundown Live Music Series. Since jazz always indicates varying degrees of improvisation of the music, our Jazz On Sloan appearances contain some of the best jazz improvisers in the business. Each year we strive to bring back some of the best jazz professionals along with a mix of new, up and coming emerging jazz musicians.

in addition to bringing you live jazz concerts, we also bring you exciting jazz and blues jams where some of the professional musicians from New York and New Jersey come to jam and we also bring a number of Bg Bands that take you back and make you really want to swing. It's this wonderful mix that makes for a great season of live jazz music and as you will see below we bring you even more fabulous jazz this year.

Join us under the Gazebo on Fridays for Jazz on Sloan and some jazz events in Spiotta Park for our really big 12-19 piece bands. Concerts kick off Memorial Day weekend and run through Labor Day, every Friday and Saturday evening from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Sundays from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. It's definitely playing out as a another great 2019 season. Time for you to join us.

Gregory Burrus curates an manages the South Orange Village Center Alliance's Downtown After Sundown Live Music Concerts. This SOMA resident arrived in South Orange, 23-year ago and just loves South Orange, NJ. Gregory enjoys all music genres but his first love jazz began as a boy when his mother and father played jazz on the good old record player at home and took him to clubs all over Manhattan. Greg was an executive in the telecommunications industry and has consulted on telecom, technology and operational business processes systems all over the world. Now he is putting his expertise, gain from his former business environment to work producing music, art and community events across South Orange, Maplewood, Newark and other towns around Northern New Jersey and New York.
