Kitten Season Comes to Town
Local kitten tamer has tabbies and tuxedos, ready to adopt
Patch checked in with local "kitten tamer," Kristen Tyler, whom we profiled last summer. She and a small group of South Orange and Maplewood volunteers rescue feral kittens who are born in the community. Tyler explains that the goal is to spay the mother cat, and to socialize and find homes for the kittens.
Tyler reports that this summer is "lighter" so far, from her observation. Still, she has a group of kittens almost ready to go home to new owners. They have been examined by a local veterinarian, and have a clean bill of health. Patch visited the kittens; these photos are the collective effort of five people to line them up for a glamour shot. (Yes, it was like "herding cats.")
