Kitten season is coming to an end, but Angelina remains. Earlier in the summer, Patch checked in with local kitten tamer Kristen Tyler. Tyler and a small group of animal lovers foster, tame, and then find homes for unwanted kittens in the community. This was a big year for black-and-white "tuxedo" kittens, who are now growing into cathood all over South Orange and Maplewood.
Still, "Angelina," as Tyler's daughter named her, remains. Now full-grown, the last cat of the season is "a glamorous movie star of a cat," in Tyler's words. Â Her good looks belie a humble origin: Tyler explains that, "She was dropped off at my doorstep with six kittens who were about three weeks old after someone called me saying the owner was putting her and her babies on the street. Â She was a very good mommy to the kittens and kept taking care of them throughout all of her moves."
Angelina's kittens have found their permanent homes, so it's time for Angelina, who has been spayed and found healthy by a local vet. Tyler adds that Angelina "has a very loud purr and loves people. She wants to be near us." However, Tyler has a family dog and other cats, so hopes to find Angelina "a quieter house with no dog or a small dog. We would love for someone to adopt her, however, if someone could foster her while we continue looking for a home, that would be good , too."

After Angelina's adventures outdoors, Tyler has a strong hope that her new owners will treat her as an indoor cat. Â "She was such a good mommy and she deserves a happy furever home!"
