Man Arrested after Hiding in Village Road Backyard

A 22-year-old Orange man was arrested in connection with a Dec. 8 burglary, after he was found trespassing in a Village Road backyard Sunday, according to South Orange police.

William Dockery, Jr. was arrested at approximately 12:30 a.m. Jan. 6 when a Village Road resident saw the man, apparently hiding in a tree in the backyard, police said. 

South Orange police apprehended Dockery as he fled through adjacent backyards. At police headquarters, a South Orange detective connected Dockery to a December burglary on Tichenor Avenue, police said.
