Man Crashes Car After Alleged Chase

A man told pole he crashed into a pole while trying to lose a car that chased him from Newark into South Orange, according to a recent report.

The Newark resident told police he was chased from Newark into South Orange by a silver Honda with tinted windows. 

While trying to lose his alleged pursuer, the Newark man crashed his 2008 Ford Edge into a pole on South Orange Ave. near Center Street.

The man told police he believed the person or people in the car were trying to rob him.
