Man Ran Over Street Signs and Hydrant
South Orange police arrest at 29-year-old Maplewood man after he drove his car onto the sidewalk.

First he ran over one street sign, then a second street sign, then he struck a fire hydrant and finally drove his car onto the sidewalk.
Police say Maplewood resident Galen Cope, 29, was finally arrested at 2:20 a.m. after his erratic driving led him to a one-car accident on Tuesday.
When police found Cope in his 2005 Dodge, he was stuck on Taylor Place.

According to the police report, Cope initially told police his car had been stolen and driven by someone else. However, upon further investigation, South Orange officers discovered that Cope was the driver.Â
He was charged with several motor vehicles offenses - including driving while intoxicated and filing a false police report.
