Schools Chief Considers Options, BOT Talks Rescue Squad This Week
A look at what's ahead this week in town.

The biggest story in the two towns is whether South Orange - Maplewood School District Superintendent Brian Osborne will accept a job in Michigan. Osborne was offered the job on Friday and is said to be "carefully considering" it. Patch will follow this story.
The South Orange Board of Trustees meets Monday at 7:30 p.m. On the agenda is a discussion of where to relocate the South Orange Rescue Squad.
"Each location provides the core functions that the Rescue Squad needs, with several smaller pros/cons for each of two possible sites, one on Sloan Street in the Firehouse lot and one on Second Street," Village President Alex Torpey told Patch.
On Wednesday starting at 7:30 p.m., enjoy the R&B and Soul sounds of Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley, at this week's free Summer Concerts in the Park at Flood's Hill.Â
The Recreation and Cultural Affairs Committee meets Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Baird Center at 5 Mead Street.
Saturday is Container Day! Disposal containers will be provided at the DPW yard at 300 Walton Avenue from 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Two proofs of residency are required. Call 973-378-7741, x 221 for more information.
