Our Lady of Sorrows Celebrates 125 Years
Special celebrations and outreach events planned; both townships to designate "OLS Week."

Â
The Church of Our Lady of Sorrows (OLS) is currently celebrating its 125th Anniversary year, which will culminate on Saturday, June 1 with a closing mass followed by a gala celebration at Mayfair Farms in West Orange, according to marketing chair Chuck Chambers.
South Orange Village President Alex Torpey and Maplewood Mayor Vic DeLuca each will declare the week beginning Sunday, May 26 as "Our Lady of Sorrows Week" in their respective towns.
The celebration of the anniversary year began last September with an opening Mass on the feast day of Our Lady of Sorrows, and an anniversary planning board has sponsored events throughout the year including church tours, social gatherings, and community outreach projects, said Chambers.
The Parish has received letters of congratulations from the Vatican, the President, Governor Christie, and others. OLS will host events including a food drive, academic awards ceremony, field day, and a musical program performed by the church choir on June 1 at 3:30 p.m.
