Our Lady of Sorrows Students Honor Veterans

Lieutenant Commander Drew McCrossan of South Orange visited his daughter's class at Our Lady of Sorrows.

Our Lady of Sorrows in South Orange held a special Veteran's Day ceremony, Monday, as part of an annual tradition to honor our nation's veterans.

This year’s speaker was Lieutenant Commander Drew McCrossan of South Orange, the father of OLS student Isabella McCrossan.

He has 14 years of service in the Navy, ten of which were active duty.

As a pilot, LCDR McCrossan flew “Seahawk” helicopters in over 50 combat patrol missions in support of both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

He was also awarded the Navy Air Medal.

LCDR McCrossan showed a short film about Veterans Day, explained the gear that he had to wear in the helicopter and answered students’ questions.
