Park Avenue School Offers Virtual Brain Session To Students

The Brain Bunch recently worked with Park Avenue School in Orange, NJ to host a free, virtual classroom session on the brain.

On April 27, Park Avenue School hosted the first lesson of its virtual brain education program constructed by The Brain Bunch. The partnership with the organization enabled students within the grades 2-7 classes to learn about the basics of neuroscience in line with the transition to online learning during the coronavirus epidemic. The weekly program promises to expose students to topics including brain anatomy, neurons, magic/optical illusions, and awareness. According to Ms. Angelica Berrio, STEM teacher at Park Avenue school who coordinated the initiative, The Brain Bunch’ virtual classroom program offered a solution “for the very limited/close to no age appropriate resources on the brain to teach [her] students. The Brain Bunch lessons are interactive and appropriate for all...students, grades 2-7!” The introductory lesson answered student questions on topics including the factors that make human beings smart and the implications of the terms left-brained or right-brained.

“We look forward to hosting the virtual lesson this week that will help students explore basic brain anatomy,” stated Siddhant Kumarapuram Ganapath, founder of the Brain Bunch organization. The students will have the opportunity to complete the second lesson of the virtual Brain Bunch program by May 8th.
