Police Blotter: Stolen Bike, Recovered Car
The week was marked by thefts from a car, theft of a car, and recovery of a stolen car

The week began with a bike theft and concluded with a stolen car that was recovered by the South Orange Police Department.
On June 16, a Centre Street resident reported that her rear garage window was removed and a men's 10-speed bike taken.
June 23 saw a Ralston Avenue resident's car sunroof smashed, though no property was taken from the vehicle.

A Prospect Street resident reported that on June 23, an unknown person put duct tape on a flood light sensor approximately seven feet from the ground, and moved a second sensor that is some 20 feet from the ground.
On June 24, a Seton Pl. resident reported that $30, two GPS devices, and a phone charger were removed from an unlocked vehicle.

On the same date, a Ward Pl. resident reported that his vehicle was removed from the front parking lot of Mike's Service Station, 403 Irvington Avenue.
Also on June 24, a Wilden Pl. resident reported that a cell phone was stolen from the vehicle parked in the driveway.
June 24 also saw a stolen car recovered. While the car was being driven westbound on South Orange Ave., the PAGAS license plate reader alerted officers that the vehicle was stolen. The SOPD confirmed this information. The driver of the car pulled over and two men exited. At that time, the SOPD responded. The two men were taken to police headquarters, where they were charged with receiving stolen property. The car, property of a rental agency, was impounded.
Finally, a landscaper working on Milton Rd. reported that, on June 28, he was grabbed from behind and his head pushed towards the window and mirror of his truck. When he woke up on the ground, the man discovered that he was missing $110 in cash from his wallet. The South Orange Rescue Squad also responded.
