Report: Lauryn Hill Takes To Tumblr, Thanks Public
South Orange singer uses social media to express her appreciation for letter-writing campaign that included Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder.

Singer, songwriter Lauryn Hill has been keeping a low profile since she was sentenced to three months in prison for failing to pay taxes on $2.3 million in income over the span of five years on Monday, May 6, a published report Sunday said.
The South Orange resident and Fugees singer has recently taken to her Tumblr account, an NJ.com report said, to thank people who wrote letters to the judge on her behalf for leniency in her sentencing.
The report says fellow musicians Stevie Wonder and Alicia Keys were among the 28 people who participated in the letter-writing campaign.

In the Tumblr post, Hill said Thursday, "I also want to thank all of my family, friends, business associates, and fans who have called, emailed, sent texts, and posted messages of concern, encouragement, and support. I appreciate the well wishes, and I thank you for your prayers."
Last month, Hill announced via Tumblr she had signed a deal with Sony music to help her pay off $900,000 in back taxes and penalties she owed and she released a single called “Neurotic Society Compulsory Mix” via iTunes and Tumblr.
