Rummage Sale Calling!

Eager for a browse? A look around? A frugal splurge?  Get yourself to Christ Church on Saturday for their annual rummage sale, 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The snow date is Sunday, 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

The sale, a decades-long tradition, according to Christ Church's Patricia Shewmaker, benefits the Youth Group and Senior ministries. Many youth group members have helped organize and will continue to assist on Saturday.

During the sale the teens will help keep the rooms organized, make runs for change and bags and help carry larger items to the car, for example.

The sale is organized like a department store with separate rooms for items that include children's clothing, linens and toys. Furniture, books, kitchenware and miscellaneous—which, this year includes a drum set—are downstairs. Customers enter through the front door, where they can "check" items before they shop.

The good work of the sale doesn't end when the doors closer. Unsold items are donated to local charities.
