Seton Hall Pitcher Hurls Perfect Game

With just 88 pitches, Shane McCarthy became the first pitcher in Seton Hall history to throw a perfect game.

South Orange, NJ – Seton Hall University sophomore Shane McCarthy can now say he was perfect… for one night, at least.

With just 88 pitches, the righty hurler became the first pitcher in Seton Hall history to throw a perfect game during a 10-0 victory against LIU Brooklyn on Friday, shutting down 27 out of 27 hitters that he faced, including eight strikeouts.

“Today is just one of those days where you feel really good,” McCarthy told The Setonian after the outing. “[My stuff was] working and we used it one through nine innings today.”
