Seton Hall University Makes Forbes' List Of Top Colleges

Seton Hall was ranked in the top 250 schools nationwide.

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — Seton Hall University was one of 13 New Jersey schools names to Forbes' annual list of the best schools in the country.

Seton Hall was ranked the 249th top school in the country, ahead of other New Jersey schools, including NJIT, Ramapo College, and Drew and Rowan universities.

Princeton University was the highest New Jersey school ranked at No. 5 while Rutgers University, the College of New Jersey, and Stevens Institute of Technology were ranked ahead of Seton Hall at No. 123, 149, and 152, respectively.

The magazine says that whether a school ranks among the top 10 or is closer to the bottom, the institutions "count as the best in the country." Forbes' annual rankings looks at colleges that "deliver the top academics, career success and lowest debt."

The methodology behind the rankings looks at five categories: alumni salary, student satisfaction, debt, on-time graduation rate and academic success. (Read more about Forbes' methodology)
