SO Police: Car Break-ins Spike, Use Precautions

Police warn of recent rise in burglaries and thefts from cars.

 

The South Orange Police Department has issued a crime alert warning residents about a recent increase in burglaries and thefts from cars. According to the police, these types of crime rise in warm weather.

Most of the incidents are taking place overnight, say police, and some of the suspects are believed to be using bicycles as a mode of transportation.

Police remind residents to:

* Utilize all locks (useless otherwise)
* Utilize all alarms (useless otherwise)
* Utilize lighting (motion sensors, driveways, garages, decks etc.)
* Utilize Communication (call the Police immediately)
* Utilize your instints (if it appears suspicious CALL US)
* Utilize the Police (let us intervene NOT you) 
* Ulitize your senses (continue your diligence in being our eyes and ears throughout your neighborhood)
