Farmers Market Opens and More this Week in South Orange

The Essex County Primary Election will be held Tuesday.  Polls in South Orange are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Check your mail for the sample ballot; for more information email the Village Clerk’s Office at clerk@southorange.org or call 973-378-7715, x7724.

As part of North Jersey Pride Week: an Anti-Bullying Panel with the family of Tyler Clementi on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Columbia High School. Hosted by the Tyler Clementi Foundation, GLSEN, CHS gay-straight alliance in a discussion with Tyler Clementi's family to raise awareness around bullying.  Open to the public and free of charge.

Two other events at Columbia High School this week: CHS Senior Recognition Night on Wednesday at 7 p.m., and CHS Jazz Night on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

The South Orange Farmers Market returns on Wednesday, June 5, with a special ribbon cutting ceremony at 2 p.m.

Finally South Orange Patch's reporting on the Board of Trustees' vote to alter SOPAC's lease agreement led to many comments and questions. We will follow up this week with more details on the debt restructuring and what it means for taxpayers.
