SOMSD Schools With The Best Teachers For 2019

MAPLEWOOD, NJ - We're almost half-way through the school year. So the holiday season maybe a good time to find out how your teachers stack up against others — whether you're sending your children to school for the first time or if they're ready to graduate.

A ranking specialist that rates everything in education, including schools, has created a list of what it says are schools with the best teachers in New Jersey and some South Orange-Maplewood School District schools made the list.

According to Niche.com, the rankings are based on "student and parent ratings of teachers, teacher salaries, teacher absenteeism, teacher tenure, student-teacher ratio, and the Niche Academics Grade for the school.

The South Orange-Maplewood School District schools that made the list are:

• Jefferson Elementary School, South Orange-Maplewood School District
