South Orange Group Tours Iris Gardens

Photographer leads members of the Women's Connection at Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel around Upper Montclair garden.

Members of the Women’s Connection at Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel (TSTI) in South Orange enjoyed a tour and photography class at the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens in Upper Montclair.

The program was led by professional photographer Joy Yagid, who paused to take a photo of participants (pictured, from left) Hilda Silverman, Debbie Marx, Irene Winicov, Estelle Baumgart, Alison Oxman, Mindy Schreff (education director of TSTI’s religious school) and Gyneen Meyers. Yagid offered tips on nature photography amidst the beauty of the famed gardens, which were in full bloom. TSTI’s Women’s Connection holds events year ‘round for members and non-members, and invites women of all generations to connect through social, educational, cultural and intellectual activities within a Jewish context.

Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel is a vibrant Reform congregation located at 432 Scotland Road in South Orange, N.J., that offers Jewish preschool, Religious school, teen programs, lifelong learning for adults and a full complement of religious services and cultural programs each month.
