South Orange Honors Kenny Graham with Tennis Competition & Music

Honoring Kenny Graham this Weekend Renaming Tennis Courts During the 1st Kenny Graham Tennis Competition & Festival.

What a nice surprise and emotional memory for me. Gregory Graham popped thru this Wednesdays' South Orange Farmers Market Jazz Jam at the South Orange Gazebo. Gregory is in town this weekend as South Orange is honoring his brother and hosting the 1st Kenny Graham Tennis Competition & Festival.

I was of course flashing back to the last time I saw my buddy Kenny at one of my other live music events Downtown After Sundown in Spiotta Park. Right on the side steps we talked about the music being played and life. As usual he was positive, dropped a few good words about enjoying the music and we said see you later. You never know that's the last "see you later".

I will and still do miss Kenny who seem to appear everywhere in South Orange and the surrounding towns. He was a very good person, one of my jazz listening buddies so very happy to hear Greg Bufford will be performing this weekend in his honor. The music will definitely be swinging hard.

I like many will be sad but very happy this weekend as the town renames the tenns courts in his honor and hold the first Kenny Graham Tennis Competition & Festival this Saturday the 29th. Hope everyone comes on out and enjoys the day.

See you at the tennis courts.
