South Orange Man Takes Top-10 Spot in Ridgewood Event

Thousands participated in the 38th annual Fred d'Elia Run in Ridgewood on Memorial Day.  John Parry of South Orange crossed the line as one of the top ten male masters runners, with an overall time of 36:37.89
According to the North Jersey Masters website, 19-year-old Lishan Yigezu of the Bronx paced the field in the 10K, winning with an overall time of 29:17.59.
Askale Merachi, of Jackson Heights, NY, led the women in the 10K, finishing the race at 34:32.10.Â

Laurens Molina finished first overall in the 10K wheelchair at 23:46.00. The event was sponsored by the Kessler Foundation.Â
Gimma Gebre, of New York City, won the elite mile with a time of 4:01.77. Garfield's Cheyenne Ogletree had the best women's time at 4:59.23.

The Ricatto family (Henry, PJ, John, Claudia and Pamela), of Ridgewood, had the best overall family time in the 5K.Â
