Special Olympics Volunteer SignUp Begins

Join many South Orange residents at the SONJ

Training began months ago for New Jersey's Special Olympians, and the games are just weeks away. Last year, the CHS girls' soccer team volunteered at the events, and this summer saw Patch writer Marilyn Lehren helping out and reporting.

The Special Olympics New Jersey seeks volunteers to help run volleyball, soccer, golf and cycling events. In addition, general administrative help is welcome.

Summer saw South Orange teams triumph in bocce. Exciting for the winners and spectators, the event, noted our Patch writer, was even more rewarding for volunteers.
