Village President Lauds Weekend Events
Downtown after Sundown and GFest were 'fantastic,' Alex Torpey says.
Crediting Lisa Hackett and the South Orange Village Center Alliance (SOVCA), Village President Alex Torpey said the weekend was "fantastic" and a great start to the season.
This weekend saw the return of Downtown After Sundown. The third season kicked off with four concerts.The Frost Kings, The Baby Please, On the Hoof, and The Mother Funkers performed.
Torpey also reported that GFest, one of the largest gatherings of vintage German cars on the East Coast, on Saturday, May 18 drew "hundreds of people to South Orange."

Finally, the South Orange Historical and Preservation Society's famed "Gems of South Orange House Tour" was Saturday. It showcased six spectacular houses representing a variety of styles.
