When Harry Asked Willa: Promposals Are Latest HS Trend
Promposals are the latest thing in going to the prom for Columbia HS Students

On a lazy Tuesday afternoon, with the clock hands limping towards dismissal, Columbia High School hallways suddenly filled with music, live music.
A knowing junior nodded at this Patch editor. "Promposal," she said.
Promposals are a new trend in making a date. Instead of making an arrangement by telephoning or even hovering near a beloved's locker, students at Columbia High School and all around the nation plan elaborate and surprising "proposals" for their prom dates.

One such promposal appeared in the Legally Blonde program, but what students saw on Tuesday was something else.
Senior Harry strolled into Kate Dodd's AP Art History class accompanied by friends, one playing guitar, another filming, still a third offering moral support. Harry led the group in George Gershwin's "Summertime" on the sax, weaving through the classroom until he reached his chosen, fellow senior Willa.

Offering her a bouquet of flowers, he said, "Willa, will you go to the prom with me?"

The class applauded, especially when Harry announced good news: he was accepted to Mason-Gross School of the Arts on Tuesday.
Congratulations!
