Going for the Gold in an Emergency

South Orange Rescue Squad Captain Kurt Gibson and First Lieutenant Brian Taege won first place in an emergency response competition at the state EMS conference in Atlantic City. They competed as team in a series of emergency scenarios and were judged on their performance compared to state emergency care standards.

"Though they were actually representing their employer, Atlantic Ambulance, in the contest, they learned their skills here so we're bragging on them," said SORS President Don Boyle.

Gibson and Taege are among an all-volunteer staff of state-certified EMTs responding to emergency calls in South Orange. Congratulations on the Gold Medals.
