2 Killed, 3 Injured In Serious Rt. 1 Crash
Two people were killed and three more injured in a serious Tuesday night crash on US-1, Linden Police said.
LINDEN, NJ — Two people were killed and three more injured in a serious Tuesday night crash on US-1, Linden Police said.
The crash happened at around 11:30 p.m. on routes 1 and 9, close to Linden. A BWM sedan was traveling north on Route 1 and crashed with a Mazda sedan that was making a U-turn, coming from I-278, according to a preliminary police investigation.
The Mazda then collided with a Honda SUV and continued off the road, police said.

The two men who were driving in the Mazda were pronounced dead at the scene.
All others were taken to the Newark University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries — a man and a woman that were in the BMW and the driver of the Honda.

The cause of the crash is being investigated, police said.
Police have not yet released the identity of the victims.
