4 Springfield Cases Of Shoplifting, Suspects Arrested: Blotter

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — There were four cases of shoplifting in Springfield during the first two weeks of May. They all resulted in a suspect being arrested.
There also instances of fraud and outstanding warrants. Here is the full Springfield Police blotter for May 1 to 15:
On May 1: A 32-year-Irvington woman was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants out of Newark.

On May 2: Officers were called to a Morris Avenue business on a report of a shoplifter who had fled the store on foot. The suspect, a 50-year-old woman from West Hempstead, NY, was apprehended nearby by responding officers and was arrested and charged with theft. A total of $803.02 worth of stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to the store.
On May 5: A 27-year-old West Orange man was charged with fraudulent use of a credit card that was reported stolen on March 7, 2021.

On May 9: A 44-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged with shoplifting from a Morris Avenue business. The items were worth $145.68 and were recovered at the scene.
On May 11: Officers were called to a Morris Avenue business on a report of shoplifting in progress. On the way there, an officer saw a person matching the suspect description in a nearby parking lot. The suspect, a 28-year-old Irvington man, was arrested and charged with theft. Items worth $220.96 were recovered.
On May 12: A 26-year-old Plainfield man was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Rahway as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 22.
On May 13: Detective Bureau personnel responded to a Route 22 business on a report of a burglary. On May 14, a 31-year-old Bronx, NY man was charged with burglary, theft, and criminal mischief.
