Madonna Is Springfield's Pet Of The Week

Meet Madonna! She has been chosen as Springfield Patch's Pet Of The Week. Nominate your pet!

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — Meet Madonna! She has been chosen as Springfield Patch's Pet Of The Week.

"Madonna is mostly white with a few calico areas on her head, back, and hind legs. She is five years old; a rescue cat adopted in March 2018 from St. Hubert's animal shelter in Madison.

Madonna has only half a tail (cause unknown), and while very friendly, remains skittish (unless, of course, it's her idea). She requires a special needs diet, and a prednisone pill every three days. Very strong with all her claws, she is the first cat we have not been able to 'handle.' This makes giving her the pills very difficult, and we've tried everything.

She has the run of our three floors, and is a climber — not a jumper — probably because of the half-tail. We've bought her various toys and cat habitats, which she has studiously ignored..... except for a floppy squirrel toy ('Hammy') that she drags around the house while yowling."
