On Monday, November 16, Ms. Sheard's guest will be Jan Carden. Mr. Carden is a retired fine arts teacher having served for more than 45 years in the Newark Public School System, primarily at Arts High School for more than 30 of those years. He taught painting, drawing, ceramics and art history.
Mr. Carden is also an actor, appearing in numerous commercials, industrials and a theatrical film. He has performed in regional theatre, appearing in Ragtime, Pirates of Penzance, Aida, Children of Eden, and Our Town, among others.

Mr. Carden has been singing for many years, and is known for his melodious baritone voice and intimate soft jazz vocal style. He has performed locally, regionally and internationally to rave reviews.
