Rocco Is Springfield's Pet Of The Week

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — Meet Rocco! She has been chosen as Springfield Patch's Pet Of The Week.

"I believe my dog Rocco should be Pet of the Week. We reside in Springfield and Rocco is the welcoming committee President on Pitt Road.

He is a 14 year old Shitshu with heart failure but that does not slow this lil' guy down. He thrives to make everyday the best. He loves walks, cuddles and any type of meat you throw his way.

Although he is older and may not be in the best health Rocco is young at heart and has the same frisky personalty he did in his youth although a bit slower now. He is very hard of hearing so our human to dog sign language is a comedy within itself.

Somehow he always knows what we want or need. We love our Rocco and are happy he is ours!"

Participating in the Pet of the Week happenings is simple: submit your nomination by emailing alexis.tarrazi@patch.com with subject line "Springfield Pet Of The Week." Be sure to include a photograph or two of your pet, a paragraph about what makes him or her so great, and the town you're from.

You can choose to include your name, but you don't need to. Then just keep an eye out for a photo of your pet on the Patch!

The photo can be of a present pet, or it can be a baby picture of the adult pet you're so proud of today. All photos must be property of the submitter.
