The trainer hired to help me get Roxy assimilated, stormed out in frustration as he warned, “that dog is no good!”
With those eyes looking up at me, I knew I couldn’t send her back and I made a promise to Roxy on that day 2 years ago. Determined and prayerful, I decided to keep her.

She was perfect for me, I just needed to convince her (and everyone else of that)
As she walked me down the neighborhood I could read the faces of doubt and fear in everyone’s faces, wondering if I’d be able to control her. My mom, always knowing best, warned, “your house will never be the same, Virginia." And of course she was right!
Roxy still has some work to do. One wrong move, and and its hundreds of dollars or a visit to the emergency room. For example, she can’t stand one New Jersey housewife Teresa Guiducci and the second she hears her voice, it’s a race to the TV to get there before her or else!!
It’s been a long and at times dangerous road but I never looked back and today I wouldn’t trade my baby girl for anything!
The uncontrollable and unpredictable beast is now a tender, trusting, sweet and remarkable dog who loves leaping high into the air to catch a ball or water shooting from the hose! I watch her in amazement! Her strength and agility is unlike any I’ve ever seen!
She loves me unconditionally and she protects me like no other. I’ve always thought that dogs are God‘s greatest gift to humanity and now I firmly believe he put them here to teach us how we should live.
I am truly blessed and grateful to have Roxy. My house may be a wreck but it is once again a happy home!!"
