Springfield 2019-2020 School Calendar

Here are all the important dates families need to know about for the coming school year.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ —The first bell on the 2019-2020 school year is about to ring and that means parents need to get their calendars in order. To help out, we've compiled a listing of important dates in the coming year:

  • Sept. 5: First day of school
  • Sept. 30, Oct. 1: No school, Rosh Hashanah
  • Oct. 9: No school, Yom Kippur
  • Oct. 14: No school, Columbus Day
  • Nov. 5: No school for students, staff professional development day
  • Nov. 7, 8: No school, New Jersey teachers convention
  • Nov. 25: Delaying opening, for preschool through eighth grade, parent-teacher conferences
  • Nov. 26: Early dismissal, preschool through eighth grade parent-teacher conferences
  • Nov. 27: Early dismissal
  • Nov. 28, 29: No school, Thanksgiving recess
  • Dec. 20: Early dismissal
  • Dec. 23 to Jan. 1: No school, winter recess
  • Jan. 20: No school, Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Jan. 28 to 31: Early dismissal, high school students, mid-term exams
  • Feb. 10: Delayed opening, preschool through eighth grade parent-teacher conferences
  • Feb. 11: Early dismissal, preschool through eighth grade parent-teacher conferences
  • Feb. 17: No school, Presidents Day
  • April 6 to 10: No school, spring recess
  • May 25: No school, Memorial Day
  • June 15 through 18: Early dismissal, high school, final exams
  • June 23: Last day of school, early dismissal

Back to school nights are the following days:

  • Sept. 12: Dayton
  • Sept. 19: Gaudineer
  • Sept. 24: Caldwell/Sandmeier
  • Oct. 3: Walton
