Springfield Celebrates Pride Month With Dance Party On June 14

The rainbow flag will be raised during the event, which starts at 4:30 p.m.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — Springfield is celebrating pride month with an afternoon full of music and dance, on June 14, at the Chisholm Community Center.

The event starts at 4:30 p.m. with a DJ dance party by Summit Soundz, and by 5 p.m the rainbow flag will be raised.

At 5:30 p.m. there will be a musical performance featuring students of Front & Center for Performing Arts.

Jonathan Dayton High School seniors Abigail M. and Sara S., Co-Presidents of the Gay Straight Alliance, will offer personal remarks on Pride Month. Local officials including Springfield Mayor Chris Weber and Union County Commissioner Chairman Al Mirabella will also deliver greetings.

During the whole event, there will be informational tables of LGBTQ resources, including from the Office of LGBTQ Affairs and Elvira Chaush, Financial Services Professional with Nylife Securities LLC.
