St. James the Apostle Parishioners Honor Area Veterans

Parishioners of St. James the Apostle Church in Springfield honored area veterans and their families with a patriotic mass followed by a catered luncheon in the school gym on November 4. At the mass, a special blessing was given to the veterans by St. James pastor, Rev. Joseph F. Barbone. Township Committeewoman Maria Vassallo read a proclamation in honor of Veterans Day at the luncheon.

“We are so grateful for the veterans’ presence at Mass and the luncheon, but especially for their presence in our parish and town. It was such a wonderful event for all, and we plan to do this every year,” said Rev. Barbone.
