On October 13 the Helping the Hungry Ministry at St. James the Apostle Parish sponsored a Breakfast Bag Assembly morning. A breakfast bag is a Ziploc bag containing simple, shelf-stable breakfast items such as a granola bar, box of cereal, juice box or individual container of fruit.
All the items that were put in the breakfast bags were donated by parishioners and Springfield community members. The volunteers assembled over 700 bags that the ministry will be donating to local soup kitchens and food pantries.

The Helping the Hungry Ministry at St James thanks all those who donated items and all those who came out to help put the bags together. And many thanks to those who will be making the deliveries.
