Vegas Is Springfield's Pet Of The Week

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — Meet Vegas! He has been chosen as Springfield Patch's Pet Of The Week!

"I am nominating our cat Vegas. Vegas is 20 years old. I rescued him when he was only six weeks old and he is the sweetest cat ever. Vegas has the softest silkiest fur. He spends most of his day on my husband's desk in his home office, keeping him company as he works.

He likes to wake us up with a gentle paw touch to our face every morning at 6 a.m. Vegas also loves to sit in the open window and take in the fresh air on fair weathered days. He greets us at the door when we come home from being out and he comes to us when we call his name from anywhere in the house. Vegas is very handsome and one of a kind."

Participating in the Pet of the Week happenings is simple: submit your nomination by emailing alexis.tarrazi@patch.com with subject line "Springfield Pet Of The Week." Be sure to include a photograph or two of your pet, a paragraph about what makes him or her so great, and the town you're from.

You can choose to include your name, but you don't need to. Then just keep an eye out for a photo of your pet on the Patch!

The photo can be of a present pet, or it can be a baby picture of the adult pet you're so proud of today. All photos must be property of the submitter.
