Will You Be Affected By Union County's Mosquito Spraying Tonight?

Union County Mosquito Control will be out tonight, spraying for mosquitos. Called adulticide, the sprays are designed to kill mosquitoes on contact. Spray trucks will be out between 7:00 PM and 12:00 AM, weather permitting.

So far, New Jersey doesn't have an established population of the type of mosquitoes that carry Zika, but it's still important to practice good anti-mosquito habits.

In addition to the county's efforts, there are things you can do at home to prevent mosquitoes from breeding. Mosquitos love water, so make sure to drain any standing water and change collection pans for pots often. Keep pools and rain gutters properly maintained, and keep all garbage cans tightly sealed.
