1.7K Still Without Power In Summit

Breaking: JCP&L has not made a projected restoration time. PSE&G says power could be back on as late as 11:45 p.m. on Saturday.

SUMMIT, NJ — Power outages continue to plague Union County Thursday morning, with a total of more than 16,000 in the dark following the snowstorm. Summit is reporting 1,772 without power.

JCP&L is reporting 11,544 customers are without power as of 7 p.m. with the most in Springfield with 5,054 followed by New Providence with 2,831. No restoration time has been set as of 8:45 a.m.

"We are experiencing power outages due to severe weather and are assessing damage. We will provide estimated restoration times when they are available," JCP&L stated.

  • Berkeley Heights - 1,690
  • Mountainside - 197
  • New Providence - 2,831
  • Springfield - 5,054
  • Summit - 1,772

PSE&G is reporting 4,868 customers without power in Union County with the most in Plainfield with 993 followed by Westfield with 986. Power restoration could be as late as 11:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Many towns are reporting that DPW crews are unable to plow certain areas because of the downed power lines. Once the lines are cleaned up, the town can remove downed trees and plow roads.
