Another Summit Resident Passes Away Due To Coronavirus

SUMMIT, NJ – The city of Summit reported in a coronavirus update on Friday that an 63-year-old male resident passed away due to coronavirus last week, bringing the death toll in the city to 22 since the start of the pandemic.
Two residents had died of the virus in January.
From Feb. 5 through 11, 31 more people in the city have tested positive, the city said. There have been 77 positive confirmed cases during the month of February and 1,311 total cases since March 2020.

The city of Summit has approximately 22,000 residents.
Total case numbers are updated and adjusted weekly following contact tracing interviews, the city said.

According to Health Officials, infection activity remains at a moderate level in Summit, while cities and counties throughout the State of NJ are experiencing a higher-level rate of infection. https://www.nj.gov/health/cd/topics/covid2019_dashboard.shtml
