Calling All Fishermen For The 2019 PAL Fishing Derby

The annual event is scheduled for the first weekend in May.

SUMMIT, NJ – It is time to bait those hooks and don the straw hats as the the Summit Department of Community Programs has set the 2019 PAL Fishing Derby for Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5.

The program is set to run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Summit Municipal Golf Course, located at 189 River Road.

The pond at the Summit Muni will be fully stocked with more than 1000 rainbow trout, including 10 prize fish that are over 21-inches in length. Attendees are asked to bring a fishing rod and reel; bait and tackle will be available for purchase.

Admission to the fishing derby is free and all residents are invited to attend; Summit Muni membership is not required. The event will take place rain or shine.

The fishing derby is sponsored by the Summit PAL and the Department of Community Programs. The Summit PAL will be providing free hot dogs and soda for all attendees. For more information, visit summitcommunityprograms.comor call 908-277-2932.
