CVS Stores In Union County Offer Coronavirus Vaccines

Signups at some NJ CVS stores started Thursday. As of 6:30 a.m., more than a dozen locations in the state said they had signups available.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — Among the ways to secure a coronavirus vaccine in Union County — besides these locations — some pharmacies, medical offices, and hospitals are set to receive the shots as well.

As of Thursday morning after 6:30 a.m., the CVS pharmacy website listed New Jersey as a location with shots available. Shots were listed as available at the following locations, which include Elizabeth and Union. Read more: 70 Rite Aid, 27 CVS Pharmacies In NJ To Begin COVID-19 Vaccines.

Clicking that link brought users to a site that said: "Please stand by. We’re experiencing heavy traffic. This page will automatically refresh every 30 seconds. Stay with us: we’ll get you in soon." Eventually it gave way to a page with screening questions.

One can also register through the CVS Pharmacy app to get notifications. People without online access can contact CVS customer service: (800) 746-7287.

A spokesman for the chain said on Wednesday that they are not currently confirming future store locations, but that people should sign up on the website.

"Vaccinations will be by appointment-only and we want to encourage eligible patients to use our online scheduling tool to find a location that is convenient for them to access," said CVS spokesman Joe Goode Wednesday.
