SUMMIT, NJ — Lucas Drost and Athreya Aravind, both representing Elite Fencers Club of Summit, NJ competed in the "Freehold Fencing Youth Foil/Epee Competition" in spring. In the Y-12 epee event, Lucas Drost took 1st place. Lucas had a close victory in the final bout, winning 10-8. In the Y-14 epee event Athreya Aravind took 3rd place while Lucas finished 7th place in that category.
For both of them, they have been fencing for only one year and this was their first year on the competition circuit. Both kids attend Summit Middle School and are both very talented athletes who are showing a lot of promise. They both train under my guidance at Elite Fencers Club where we hold group classes and private lessons for fencers of all ages and abilities. We are growing quickly and are expecting big things from Lucas and Athreya in the upcoming season.
