JCP&L Ready For Major Winter Storm in Summit
"We are monitoring the storm and gearing up."

Summit, NJ -- As a major winter storm is predicted to hit our area hard on Friday, power company JCP&L is “monitoring the storm and gearing up.”
JCP&L covers a large area of Somerset County including Summit with 9,291 customers.
The power company has a meteorologist on staff, who is closely monitoring the storm, said Ron Morano with Jersey Central Power & Light.

“When the time comes we will activate a storm restoration plan,” Morano said. “When the plan is in place we will centralize our restoration efforts at the command center and mobilize a crew to the area more impacted than others.”
During the storm customers can stay in touch with JCP&L’s efforts on their website to access storm information, current outages and when it will be expected to be back on.

- Berkeley Heights - 4,903 customers
- Mountainside Borough - 385 customers
- New Providence Borough - 5,254 customers
- Springfield Township - 7,477 customers
- Summit City - 9,291 customers
