Junior League of Summit Announces GRACE Transition

GRACE (Giving and Receiving our Community's Essentials) is now a 501(c)(3)

(GRACE)

It is with immeasurable excitement that the Junior League of Summit announces that in the 4th Quarter of 2020 the transition of JLS's signature program GRACE Summit (Giving and Receiving our Community's Essentials) has been completed and GRACE Summit has established their non-profit, 501(c)(3) status and are part of the Summit Department of Community Programs.

As with all Junior League signature programs the goal is to understand core issues, in this instance, food insecurity, that impacts our community and learn and apply key leadership skills to establish and run the program to drive community impact. Ultimately, when the program is fully established and ready the goal is to transition outside of Junior League "ownership" and into the community.

"Congratulations to Amanda Block, our GRACE founder and champion, and to all involved from both the JLS and GRACE boards for the significant work done in ensuring a smooth transition from signature project to community partner!" Tara Charvat, Junior League of Summit President said.

The GRACE team worked diligently for well over a year to establish a transition plan that would best suit the mission of their organization. The GRACE mission is to meet community needs with community resources to enable the good health and success of our vulnerable and underserved neighbors.

"The Junior League of Summit excels at mixing great ideas with strategic partners and incubating that synergy to engender positive change in our community. We at GRACE owe the JLS a debt of gratitude for the support and empowerment it gave to foster our growth and success", affirmed Amanda Block, GRACE Founder and Director.

Not only has GRACE evolved from its humble beginnings of nutrient-dense food distribution, over the years it has provided clothing, health screenings, educational programs, dental services, flu immunization clinics and so much more. With the most recent accomplishment of distributing much needed food to over 500 families a week during a global pandemic.

GRACE has been working closely with the City of Summit Department of Community Programs and this relationship has been exceptionally successful. This strong relationship has created the opportunity for GRACE to officially become a program under the city of Summit! https://summitcommunityprogram...
