Library Hours Will Go Back To Normal In Summit, But Masks Remain
For the first time in over a year, normal (and late) hours will return on June 1, but masks and capacity limits will remain as of now.

SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit Free Public Library announced that it will resume normal hours beginning June 1, remaining open until 9 p.m. four days per week. Several other changes will take place as well.
The library’s hours starting next month will be:
- Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
The library will remain closed on Sundays but will re-open on Sundays in September, after Labor Day, which has been the traditional launch of Sunday hours.

Capacity Limits, Masks, Time Limits
The maximum number of people allowed in the building at any one time will be 50 and masks and social distancing will still be required.
However, no time limit will be placed on visits.
The library will also be increasing the amount of time on our computers to 2 hours.
They noted, "It will come as a ‘relief’ to many that public restrooms will be open, although our Quiet Study rooms and Think-it Lab will remain closed.
Some Programs Outside
Adult programs will continue to be virtual. Many of our children and teen programs will be offered outside under the tent.
"Allowing our popular children and teen summer reading program activities to operate outdoors, under a tent, is another step in bringing normalcy back to our library and the public’s lives," Permahos said.
