New Bus Service To NYC Starts Monday In Summit

The private bus company will begin picking up passengers at 6:15 a.m.

SUMMIT, NJ, – So those frustrated with the commuting options into New York City will have a avenue to explore Monday as the City of Summit Parking Services Agency is partnering the Boxcar Inc. to offer private bus service into New York City weekdays.

Pickup begins at 6:15 a.m. and the pickup location is in front of the vehicle entrance to the Broad Street Garage at 301 Broad Street in Summit.

  • 6:15 AM pickup in front of Broad Street garage
  • 7:01 AM drop off at 42 Street and Eighth Avenue (Port Authority)
  • 7:04 AM drop off at 42 Street and Sixth Avenue (Bryant Park)
  • 7:08 AM drop off at Madison Avenue & 43 Street
  • 7:10 AM drop off at Madison Avenue & 47 Street
  • 7:13 AM drop off at Madison Avenue & 52 Street
  • 7:18 AM drop off at Madison Avenue & 57 Street

The introductory cost for the first week is $7.99 for a one-way trip; commuters are advised to reserve a seat using the Boxcar app. After the first week, the standard one-way ticket price is $14.99 with discounts available on the Boxcar app and with the coupon code summit15.

Return service will begin on March 11, departing from midtown Manhattan at a location to be determined on 41 Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues. Additional information is available on the City of Summit website or contact the City of Summit Parking
