Officials are asking that motorists avoid the area Tuesday and Wednesday night.

SUMMIT, NJ - Milling and paving work on River Road will cause traffic issues and the Summit Police Department is asking motorists avoid the area Tuesday and Wednesday night.
The work is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and end by 6 a.m. and will begin on the section of River Road closest to Route 24 and proceed toward Passaic Avenue and the Chatham border, police said.
During milling operations, detours are possible. While emergency vehicles will be provided access at all times, drivers requested to plan an alternate route, police said.
