NJ Program For Grieving Kids Gets Boost From Summit Scouts
A program for grieving kids in New Jersey, founded in Summit in 2004, recently got a local boost from Scouts who helped with crafts.

SUMMIT, NJ — Good Grief, a statewide nonprofit that holds events for grieving children and families, is welcoming the return of in-person fundraising events. The group — founded in Summit in 2004 — held their first in-person event in over a year on June 6 with the annual 5K Run and Walk.
And the event got a boost from Summit Scouts.
Members of Troop 67 led children's arts and crafts activities at the event.

The group has been hard at work:
- 1,090 children and family members (including parents) participated in their peer support groups in 2020
- They also work in partnership with 126 school districts and individual schools supporting students, educators and counselors with a variety of peer support programs.
- They serve more than 160 communities and operate programs in Morristown, Princeton, Jersey City, and Newark.
“We were thrilled to be able to bring our Good Grief children, families and the extended community together for this cherished event,” said Good Grief CEO Joe Primo. “Over the last year, our community has demonstrated incredible resilience in the face of the grief, loss and uncertainty posed by the pandemic. It was truly gratifying to see children and families walking and running to honor their loved ones.”
Sponsors recognized for their support of the event included The Sharp Financial Group, Strawn Arnold & Associates and Deloitte.
