Press release from Overlook Auxiliary:
June 19, 2021
The Overlook Auxiliary proudly announces the next iteration of its HOPE & GRATITUDE fundraiser: the “Art for Gratitude” campaign. In continued support of Overlook Medical Center, the Auxiliary will be launching this new project to engage the community in a creative tile mural campaign. The funds raised will benefit the construction of the new state-of-the-art Hersh Children’s Center at Overlook Medical Center, which will centralize all pediatric services to provide expert, efficient, and compassionate care for the youngest patients and their families.

The Art for Gratitude campaign will invite members of the community to create artistic tiles reflecting the themes of hope, healing, and gratitude using personal drawings, coloring, painting, or collage making which will be placed on individual tiles. Each tile will be produced by and incorporated into framed murals by our campaign creative partner, ArtWare for Good. The murals will be proudly displayed within the new Hersh Children’s Center and in selected areas of Overlook Medical Center.
“We are so appreciative of the ongoing commitment and support of the Overlook Auxiliary,” says Lauren Yedvab, Chief Operating Officer. Clelia Biamonti, Ph.D., executive director of the Overlook Foundation stated, “The Art for Gratitude campaign complements the Overlook Foundation’s mission by raising funds that improve the patient experience at Overlook Medical Center.”

To join the campaign, participants will purchase a tile for $40 each, create the artwork on paper, and then submit it to ArtWare for Good to be recreated on a tile. They may also donate a tile to be created by a staff member, child of a staff member, or patient at Overlook Medical Center or may simply donate to this very wonderful cause. All proceeds from the Art for Gratitude campaign will support the construction of the Hersh Children’s Center at Overlook Medical Center and will sustain the work of the Overlook Auxiliary.
