Person Swipes 17 Tubes Of Toothpaste, Is Captured: Summit Police

A suspect had a brush with the law in Summit after allegedly taking 17 tubes of Crest, police said.

SUMMIT, NJ — Summit police say that a thief failed to make a clean getaway after swiping numerous tubes of toothpaste from a business on Deforest Avenue.

Police say that on May 23, they got a report from a business around 10 a.m. that an individual "left the building with (14) tubes of Crest toothpaste valued at $70."

Police were able to locate the individual and the items were returned, they said.

A police spokesperson said the suspect was not arrested after this brush with the law, but is not allowed to enter the business again.
